Project context
Fragments of the Spirit: Whispers of Renewal is Duo Li’s graduation puppetry work at Wimbledon College of Arts, University of the Arts London. Set in a post-apocalyptic environment where people have lost their connection with nature, it follows a small puppet seeking fragments of an ancient flower spirit to explore reconnection between body, spirit and nature.
Within the digital projection collaboration, I constructed scenes and animation, translating the setting and narrative requirements into digital spaces and moving images for the stage. These work with puppets, bodily movement and projection to form the performance. Digital projection was a collaboration between Duo Li, orocoa and Rui Wang. The graduation work received a Distinction.
