Project context
Visualisation of Emotions begins with the abstract nature of emotion and the difficulty of expressing it. Emotional intensity, stability and inward or outward orientation become curvature, structural density, tension and permeability in space. Changes in spatial form explore how people can express, observe and understand their emotions.
Grasshopper parametric models organise calm, disturbance, outburst, tension, reflection and introspection into a continuous spatial process. Curve perturbation, mesh displacement, tensile structures and degrees of enclosure express transitions between states. The end reconnects to the beginning to convey emotional cycles and change.
The project uses personal emotional experience for conceptual and formal experiments, examining spatial creation as a method of self-observation and communication.
