Project context
Experimental Puppetry Art Center is an architectural concept in Stara Zagora, Bulgaria. It addresses the competition between performance spaces and backstage functions on a compact site by organising the main theatre, experimental theatre and backstage vertically, with a lifting stage connecting different floors.
Site conditions, functional zoning and circulation inform separate paths for audiences, performers and backstage staff, alongside spaces for gathering, rest and public activities. The theatre can support different performances, artistic experiments and everyday public use.
Architectural models, plans, sections and spatial visualisations explore how several functions can share a limited area and the relationship between stage, backstage and urban public space.
