Project context

In London’s Wandsworth Story Catchers project, I received oral-history interview training and interviewed local residents Trish, Mavis and Sonin entirely in English, building trust through conversation. I recorded their personal experiences of migration, everyday life and community belonging. Face-to-face communication, attentive listening and follow-up questions helped document stories that residents found difficult to record themselves, preserving them as part of the community’s cultural archive.

As one of five main organisers, I also helped bring these memories into a public exhibition, making the culture of residents’ everyday lives tangible and preserving oral histories that might otherwise disappear with their passing. The interviews were presented in We Are Somebody at Wandsworth Town Library. The project overview records an exhibition period from September 2025 to February 2026, approximately six months. My interview credits and recordings are also included on Wandsworth Council’s cultural project website.
